my saturday craft show
oh what a show.i was so impressed with all the other crafters works.what a talented and friendly group of ladies.polly, patty, jan, joyce, carol, linda..and all the others .did they bake up a storm for the bakery..mmmm
i did barter a bracelet for a knitted hat in my favorite colors turquoise/purple/lialac/blue...its really cute and so much nicer then store bought.i sold pearl necklaces and more bracelets then earrings surprisingly..we had brisk sales early, then it quieted down and then towards the end picked up again.i was surprised considering the economy but people were just buying one or two pieces instead of 4 or 5.quite understandable.but i had a great time and met alot of new friends. ok now i have to get ready for my next show in albany,ca.a town next to berzerky lol

mikes
michaels had a sale..i loaded down on sterling silver supplies.i was running out of everything.even got gold filled pins and connectors as well as crimps in both ss. g.f..
i noticed the beads are getting shorter and shorter but the price stays the same, kinda like the food size and repackaging smaller amounts. interesting that people were not buying the beads.
i have several ideas for bracelets using crystals and jade and pearls and bali silver. i hope they sell this sat at the holiday boutique.

BUY HANDMADE HERE'S WHY
ONE MORE THING..I FORGOT TO POST THIS WITH MY 1ST POST..
Buying Handmade makes for better gift-giving.
The giver of a handmade gift has avoided the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. If the giver has purchased the gift, s/he feels the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that canbe seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.
Buying handmade is better for people.
The ascendancy of chain store culture and global manufacturing has left us dressing, furnishing, and decorating alike. We are encouraged to be consumers, not producers, of our own culture. Our ties to the local and human sources of our goods have been lost. Buying handmade helps us reconnect.
